Rehman College of Allied Health Sciences (RCAHS) hosted an engaging session titled ‘Know Your Emergency Rescue Service’, led by Mr. Ghayur Mushtaq, the District Emergency Officer from Rescue 1122. The session attracted a full house of students and faculty, including Vice Principal Mr. Muhammad Danish. The real excitement, however, came from the Emergency Technology students, who participated with energy and genuine interest throughout the event.

Mr. Mushtaq, drawing on years of field experience, gave students a detailed look into how emergency rescue services operate in real-time. From high-pressure decision-making during disasters to the importance of teamwork in crisis situations, he didn’t hold back on the realities of what it takes to save lives.
“There’s no margin for error when lives are on the line,” he said, reminding students that in emergencies, quick thinking and clear coordination often make the difference between life and death.

Students were keen to learn more, asking thoughtful questions and discussing real-world emergency scenarios. The session felt less like a lecture and more like an open conversation between aspiring professionals and someone who’s walked the path they hope to follow.

What made the session truly valuable was how it connected theory to practice. For many students, it was the first time they heard about the emotional and logistical challenges emergency workers face—from mental health support to on-ground coordination during disasters. “It was one of the most practical sessions we’ve had,” shared a student from the Emergency Technology program. “Hearing stories from the field made us think beyond textbooks and lectures.”

By the end of the session, students left with more than just knowledge—they left inspired. The talk not only deepened their understanding of emergency services but also reminded them of the crucial role they will play as future frontline healthcare providers.
