RCAHS Celebrates Anesthesia Day 2025 With Focus on Innovation, Patient Safety
Rehman College of Allied Health Sciences (RCAHS) marked Anesthesia Day 2025 with a vibrant mix of science, creativity, and reflection on the evolving practice of anesthesia in Pakistan.
Held in collaboration with the Department of Anesthesia, Rehman Medical Institute (RMI), the event brought together students, faculty, and senior anesthesiologists for a day of discussion and discovery.
The celebration opened with a student-led model competition, where participants presented original projects illustrating key anesthesia concepts. Judges praised the entries for their clarity and inventiveness, describing them as evidence of growing confidence among the next generation of healthcare professionals.
An interactive workshop led by Dr. Mujahid ul Islam became the intellectual core of the event. His talk explored modern anesthesia techniques, ethical decision-making, and the centrality of patient safety in clinical care. Students described the session as “eye-opening,” noting how it bridged theory and hands-on medical practice.
The ceremony was attended by Chairman RMI Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rehman and CEO RMI Shafique Ur Rehman, whose presence underscored RCAHS’s broader mission to raise academic and professional standards in allied health education. Both leaders urged students to approach medicine with empathy and precision — qualities that define the best clinicians.
Among the distinguished guests were Pakistan Society of Anaesthesiologists (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) President Dr. Nasreen Laiq, Dr. Saba Saeed from Peshawar Institute of Cardiology, Dr. Fazl Wadood from Khyber Teaching Hospital, Prof. Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad, and RMI Directors Zeba Rehman and Naila Rehman. Their attendance highlighted the growing collaboration between medical institutions in strengthening anesthesia education and research.
For many at RCAHS, the celebration went beyond marking a day — it became a statement of intent: a collective commitment to innovation, ethics, and excellence in the field of anesthesia.
