Diploma in Dental Surgery Assistant

The aim of this two years’ programme in Dental Surgery Assistant (DSA) is to equip students with relevant professional knowledge, skills, techniques, and ethical values to enable them to apply their acquired expertise at the level between the doctor and the patient for excellent health services delivery.

The programme is affiliated with Faculty of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences (FPMA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Our curriculum is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to work as Certified Dental Surgery Assistants. Throughout the programme, students will gain hands-on experience assisting patients at primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare levels, all under proper supervision.

By the end of the programme, students will have acquired necessary competencies to bridge the gap between doctors and patients, ensuring delivery of high-quality healthcare services. They will be well prepared to support dental surgeons in various procedures, provide assistance in patient care, and contribute to the overall  well-being of patients.

SCOPE

The aim of this two years programme in dental surgery assistant is to equip the student with relevant professional knowledge, skills, techniques, and ethical values to enable them to apply their acquired expertise at the level between the doctor and the patient for efficient Health services delivery. The programme is recognised by and affiliated with Faculty of Paramedical and Allied health Sciences (FPMA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. 


Admissions

Admission to RCAHS is offered in fall each year. The admission is based on open merit through the RCAHS Admission Committee in accordance with the policies laid down by the Khyber Medical University. All decisions of the Admission Committee are deemed as final. The candidates are required to apply on prescribed application form available ONLINE at http://admissions.rmi.edu.pk/.

Appearance in Interview is mandatory for all categories of applicants. Students may apply online on the admissions portal.

Successful candidates will be provided with further instructions to complete the admission process. All such candidates must submit an undertaking on Rs. 50/- Judicial paper.

  • HSSC (Pre-Medical) / Equivalent with minimum 50% marks
  • Age: Maximum 25 Years

Merit Weightage

  • HSSC or equivalent:      50%
  • KMU-CAT:                      40%
  • Interview:                       10%

Merit List

  • The admission to above programme in RMI shall be made strictly based on merit.
  • In case final merit of more than one candidate is equal up to four decimals, the candidate older in age shall stand higher in merit.
  • After the display of final merit list, if there is any vacant seat, next student on merit in the waiting list will be offered admission against such vacant seat.
     

Admission Process

  • The applications through online portal of the college shall be accepted for the scrutiny and merit formulation. 
  • It will be the responsibility of the candidate to provide all academic & personal documents as required by the college prior to the last date of admissions as specified in the website.
  • Communication to the applicants will be strictly through Email address provided by the applicants 
  • Visiting college website for day to day updates will be the responsibility of the applicants.
  • Selected applicants and their parents/guardians will be required to submit an affidavit on a Rs. 100/- stamp paper duly notarized by a notary, stating the acceptance of College required disciplinary, legal, financial responsibilities and all other rules and regulations specified in the college prospectus.
  • Admission will remain conditional subject to verification of all documents, passing medical fitness test.
  • Personal appearance for verification and interview is required. 
  • Admission offer will be valid only on fee deposit within the stipulated period given below.

Fee Structure

The selected applicants shall be bound to deposit fee within three working days failing which the admission offer shall automatically stand withdrawn and next candidate on merit will be issued admission offer.

General Provision

  • Regulatory Authorities directives regarding admissions 2023 – 24 issued from time to time will be followed 
  • A strict NO DONATION POLICY is adopted. No one except, office of admissions is authorized to give a written admission offer.
  • Fee for more than one (1) Semester will not be demanded.
  • All fee will be deposited in the official College designated bank account.
  • SCHOLARSHIPS: As per institution’s past practices, scholarship will be offered as per policy. Further details can be obtained from college website.

Rehman College of Dentistry (RCD) and Rehman College of Allied Health Sciences (RCAHS) offer an exclusive Diploma in Dental Surgery Assistant program for all RMI employees and their relatives.

Program Details:

  • Duration: Two-year program (four semesters)
  • Tuition Fee: Rs 10,000 per semester
  • Installment option available, payable from salary
  • Registration Fee: Rs 4,700
  • Morning classes
  • NOC required from HoD
  • First-year academic and second-year practical experience in clinics at RCD

Eligibility:

  • Age Limit: 30 years
  • Matric Science with 50% marks

  • Classes begin in the first week of February.
