BS – Cardiology Technology
Cardiology Technology is a specialized allied health program focused on the diagnosis, monitoring, and management of cardiovascular disorders. The program equips students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in ECG, echocardiography and Doppler studies, exercise stress testing, Holter monitoring, cardiac catheterization, coronary angiography, electrophysiology, and cardiac device monitoring. Through structured clinical training, students learn to operate modern cardiovascular technologies and assist cardiologists in diagnostic and interventional procedures, preparing them for professional careers in Hospitals, Cardiac centers, Cath labs, Diagnostic units, and Cardiovascular Care settings.
BS Cardiology program prepares graduates to become skilled cardiac and cardiovascular technology professionals who support cardiologists and healthcare teams in the diagnosis, monitoring, and management of patients with cardiovascular diseases. With the increasing burden of heart disease and the rapid development of cardiac diagnostic and interventional technologies, trained cardiology professionals have an important role in modern healthcare.
The scope of BS Cardiology includes both non-invasive cardiac diagnostics and invasive/interventional cardiac procedures. During their education and clinical rotations, students develop practical competencies in areas such as:
- Electrocardiography (ECG)
- Echocardiography and Doppler studies
- Exercise stress testing
- Holter and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
- Cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography
- Assistance in interventional cardiology procedures
- Pacemaker and cardiac device monitoring
- Cardiac emergency and critical care monitoring
- Pre- and post-procedure cardiac care
- Operation and maintenance of cardiac diagnostic equipment

Further Education and Professional Growth
After completing BS Cardiology, graduates may pursue MS/MPhil and other postgraduate program in Cardiac Technology, Cardiovascular Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, and related disciplines. With additional education and experience, they can progress toward positions in clinical supervision, departmental management, research, education, clinical training, and specialized cardiac technology.

Admission
Admission to Rehman College of Allied Health Sciences (RCAHS) is offered in fall each year. The admission is based on open merit through the RCAHS Admission Committee in accordance with the policies laid down by the Khyber Medical University. All decisions of the Admission Committee are deemed as final. The candidates are required to apply on prescribed application form available ONLINE at http://admissions.rmi.edu.pk/.
Successful candidates will be provided with further instructions to complete the admission process. All such candidates must submit an undertaking on Rs. 100/- Judicial paper.
Eligibility Criteria
- HSSC (Pre-Medical) / Equivalent with minimum 50% marks
- KMU-CAT 2026 (Mandatory)
Scheme of Study

- The admission to the Allied Health Sciences Programmes shall be made strictly based on merit
- In case the final merit of more than one candidate is equal up to four decimals, the candidate older in age shall stand higher in merit
- After the display of the final merit list, if there is any vacant seat, the next student on merit in the waiting list will be admitted against such vacant seat
Merit Weightage
- Matric: 10%
- HSSC or equivalent: 50%
- KMU-CAT: 40%
Admission Process
RCAHS admits students annually through a transparent, merit-based admission process. Admissions are open to all eligible applicants without discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, race, religion, gender, or domicile.
Applications for all academic programmes must be submitted through the official admissions portal [admissions.rmi.edu.pk]. Only applications received through the prescribed online system shall be considered for scrutiny, merit determination, and further processing.
All shortlisted applicants shall be required to appear for an interview on the scheduled date and present their original academic credentials and supporting documents for verification.
Applicants offered admission shall be required to submit the following documents:
- Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or IBCC Equivalence Certificate
- Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or IBCC Equivalence Certificate
- Domicile Certificate
- Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or Form ‘B’ of the applicant
- CNIC of the father or legal guardian
- Recent passport-size photographs

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that their contact information remains accurate and accessible throughout the admission process.
An offer of admission shall remain provisional and subject to the successful verification of all submitted documents, medical fitness, payment of the prescribed fee, and fulfilment of all conditions specified in the Admission Offer Letter within the stipulated timeframe.
Upon admission, every student and their parent or legal guardian shall be required to submit a duly notarized affidavit on Rs. 100/- stamp paper, confirming their acceptance of the college’s academic, disciplinary, legal, and financial regulations, together with all other applicable policies and rules governing enrollment at RCAHS.
General Provision
- Regulatory Authorities directives regarding admissions 2023 – 24 issued from time to time will be followed
- A strict NO DONATION POLICY is adopted. No one except, the office of admissions is authorized to give a written admission offer
- Fee for more than one (1) Semester will not be demanded
- All fees will be deposited in the official College designated bank account
